Can You Attach Any Headboard To A Platform Bed Frame?

Platform beds are becoming very popular with families, couples and retirees. This is mainly due to the versatility they offer when it comes to how you decorate and arrange the bedroom. Most people don’t realize that there are headboards you can purchase that do not go with the bed, but will provide a separate, comfortable surface for you to sleep on. Can you attach any headboard to a platform bed frame?

The answer is yes, you can attach one of these headboards to any frame. There are also headboards that attach to the ends of the bed. The type of headboard you buy depends on the style and/or color of the bed. Remember to measure your bed before you purchase any headboards to ensure that you purchase the right size.

If you have purchased a platform bed, you probably know what the headboard looks like. It usually sits on top of the bed and is supported by the bottom board. There are many different types of headboards available. If you want something a bit more unique, you can get something that has a extra tacky piece attached to it. What kind of extra tacky piece you get really depends on your taste and the theme of your room. Some people get tacky headboards with eye and tooth pieces, others get ones with animal designs.

If you have purchased a headboard with a extra tacky piece, you’ll want to remove it before you begin attaching it to the frame. First, unbolt the bracket that the headboard goes with. You can usually find this in the lower box spring or the main bed of the bed. Then remove the headboard from the frame by unscrewing it from the frame.

Next, you’ll need to screw the headboard into the platform at two points. You want to make sure that you anchor the headboard into the wood at the right points, or you will risk it falling off. Once the headboard is screwed into the platform, put a dowel into the space where the headboard was located on the platform bed. Then, put your mattress on top of the dowel, and use some sort of weight to keep the platform bed in place. Make sure the platform bed doesn’t move when you turn or flip the bed – if it moves, you’ll have to adjust the bed and potentially re-do the whole process again.

When you’re done, you should be able to attach your headboard to the frame with a few hand screws, just like you did when you had the platform bed attached to the frame. The important thing is to ensure that the headboard stays put. If you don’t do this right, you could damage the bed in the process and ruin your hard work.
