My personal favorite is the ever-popular “Butterfly Ball” game played in our Bean Bag chairs. My children and I love to sit on our Bean Bag chairs in the back yard, and every time a butterfly appears on the back side of the chair, we will try to pop the ball out of the chair using a stick that looks like a butterfly.
The object is to first find the “butterfly” and then hit it with the stick to pop it out. Of course, in order to play this game, you must have a good supply of Butterscotch or Butterballs handy. You can also use a butter knife to scrape off the dried popcorn that collects on the bottom of the Butterscotch.
If you are asking the question “Should my bean bag chair smell,” then you most likely have a Butterscotch or Butterball storage source close by. Unfortunately, the storage type doesn’t last forever and tends to break down more often than not. Fortunately, there is an easy way to revive that smell. All that is needed are a few drops of essential oil and a couple hours in front of a fan, and you can have that old aroma back again. This is a very easy way to get that old chair smell back into your home.
To make the Butterscotch or Butterball smell, you only need a small drop of the oil (more like a drop of water) and some paper towels to blot up the excess. What you want to do is cover the whole surface of the butterscotch or butter ball with paper towels, including any wrinkles. This is what helps to seal in the scent. You don’t want to just use a single layer though, as any air that gets in could cause the liquid to seep out and therefore lose the fragrance.
Now, you can sit on the chair and let it soak for a few hours. Then, open up the envelope and put about one to two drops of the essential oil into the bottom of the bag. Shake it up well and repeat the process with about three to four more bags. It will take several days for the scent to be fully permeated throughout the room, but at least you’ll have that familiar smell once again.
If you do want to use this method on your Butterscotch or Butterball bean bag chair, you need to be extremely careful. Many manufacturers recommend that you never use anything with scents that are bitter or sour to prevent permanent damage to the materials.
This isn’t always the case though, so make sure you know which materials you’re trying to coat with the oil before you go about this process. If you’ve never done anything like this before, or aren’t sure if you should do it, then read the directions closely. It’s easy to ruin a chair if you don’t use the proper procedures.
If you absolutely must use a scent that you’re unsure is safe for human inhalation, then use an air purifier to freshen up the room first. You can also try spraying candles and incense in the room if you’re feeling really brave (and stinky). Just remember that the best way to keep your Sofa or Bean Bag Chair smelling new is to clean it regularly.
There are a number of ways you can wash them, so be sure to know which ones will work best for your situation. You can also purchase Sofa and Bean Bag Chairs that already smell great, so you won’t have to worry about replacing them!
