What Does Free Standing Headboard Mean?

What does a free standing headboard mean? It simply refers to a piece of headboard that is not attached to the stand. Many of the stands that you will find for your bedroom dresser or nightstands will include a support beam that will keep the free standing headboard in place while you are sleeping or even just relaxing. For those who prefer to paint the finish on their dressers and so not want to worry about the finish being touched up every so often there are stands available that allow the headboard to sit flush against the wall. These types of free standing headboards can usually be purchased in unfinished wood. You can stain the finish to match your room’s decor.

One of the most popular styles of stands for dresser tops are those that feature open shelf space. These types of free standing headboards are great for smaller rooms or even pantries. Some people like to use these stands in conjunction with narrow cabinet draws. You can keep additional items in the drawer and pull out the shelf space. This makes it easy to place your small appliances and other items that are used less frequently on the bottom shelf.

The cost for these stands can vary depending on the material they are made from. Many people choose wood free standing headboards because they have a wood tone that blends in with most decor. They are also very affordable. If you do not have a lot of money to spend on a headboard then this may be a good choice for you.
